What is Hypnotherapy?

It is the application of hypnosis for positive change, healing and empowerment. 

Is Hypnosis Medically Approved?

Yes. Since 1958, The American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association have approved hypnotherapy as an effective modality and a valid form of treatment.

Is Hypnosis Mind Control?

Not at all. Hypnosis is a natural state that is quite similar to a meditative state but far easier to experience. Furthermore, you cannot be hypnotized against your will nor made to do or say anything which violates personal standards of behavior or integrity.

Will I be Unconscious or Knocked Out?

No. You will always be perfectly able to speak or move if you choose but most people are so relaxed that they don't.

Can I Get Stuck in Hypnosis?

No, just as you cannot get stuck in meditation or sleep.

Is Everyone Hypnotizable?

Yes, if they so choose. The natural ability to achieve a level of relaxation does depend on the individual; however, with the assistance of a skilled hypnotherapist, anyone can quickly learn.

How Soon Will I Experience Results?

Immediately. Results vary depending on the individual, however, benefit is felt from the first session. In fact, many issues are significantly improved or resolved after just a few sessions.

What is the Swenson Method?

Reimbursement for Hypnosis

If you were referred by a physician for weight-loss, smoking cessation and sometimes other conditions depending on your situation, you may qualify for reimbursement of your sessions. Greater Achievements doesn't work directly with insurance companies as coverage varies greatly, however some clients are able to receive reimbursement as it has been approved by the American Medical Association since 1958. Other possibilities include the utilization of flex spending or tax deductions.

To claim the health tax credit, complete Form 8885, Health Coverage Tax Credit, and attach it to your Form 1040 or Form 1040NR. Report the credit on Form 1040, line 67, or Form 1040NR, line 62, and check box c. You cannot claim the credit on Form 1040A or Form 1040EZ. You must attach invoices and proof of payment for any amounts you include on line 2 of Form 8885 for which you did not receive an advance payment. If you file your return electronically, attach the invoices and proof of payment to your Form 8453. Proof of payment may include a pay stub if insurance is through a spouse’s employment, a bank check, or bank statement for premiums that are automatically deducted from your account.
